Theologian T.F. Torrance would often (and in many different ways) say something along these lines, "There is no God behind the back of Jesus." Or, during Lent we might emphasize it by saying something like, "There is no God other than the God we see in the face of Jesus Christ on the cross." 

I don't remember the exact quote, but Torrance also wrote that there is no dark, "inscrutable" God hiding behind Jesus. So Brennan Manning says it perfectly, "Jesus discloses God's true feelings toward us."

Yes, in Jesus we really do know just how much God loves us. Amazing grace!
